The King Abdulaziz Medical City (KAMC) recently embarked on an essential upgrade of its Nurse Call System, entrusting the installation to our highly skilled team. This project, pivotal for ensuring swift and reliable communication within the hospital, demands not just technical expertise but also a meticulous approach to planning and execution.
Project Scope and Execution
Initiated on June 4, the project focuses on the installation of a new Nurse Call System in Different Zones of the hospital, covering 250 rooms. our team completed the initial phase by June 11, demonstrating our commitment to efficiency and quality.
- 1. Protection of Patient Beds and Entrances: Before commencing installation, our team ensured that all patient beds and entrances were adequately protected to prevent any inconvenience or potential hazards. This step was crucial to maintaining a safe and functional environment within the hospital during the installation process.
- 2. Cable Pulling: Following the protection phase, our experts carried out the intricate task of cable pulling. This involved laying the cables through the designated pathways, ensuring minimal disruption to the hospital’s operations. The cables were meticulously routed to maintain the aesthetics and functionality of the hospital environment.
- 3. Cable Testing and Labeling: Precision is paramount in systems like these. Each cable underwent rigorous testing and was clearly labeled to ensure accurate identification and troubleshooting in the future. This step is vital for the system’s reliability and ease of maintenance.
- 4. Installation of System Unit: With the cabling complete, our team proceeded to install the system units in each room. This phase included the placement and connection of control panels, ensuring they were seamlessly integrated with the hospital’s existing infrastructure.

Challenges and Strategic Solutions
While the project progressed smoothly overall, we encountered several challenges. The initial delay in receiving work permits and the subsequent logistical hurdles required adaptive solutions. The distance between various hospital zones, requiring significant transit time, also added complexity to the task. Nevertheless, our proactive communication and flexibility enabled us to overcome these obstacles efficiently.

Moving Forward
As we transition to the next phase, which involves work in Next Zone , it’s imperative to address any delays promptly to maintain the project timeline. Coordination with the hospital’s administration and timely access to the required areas are crucial for minimizing disruptions and ensuring the continuity of operations.
Our experience with this project underscores our capacity to handle complex installations in critical environments. By maintaining a focus on safety, precision, and collaboration, we aim to deliver a Nurse Call System that significantly enhances patient care and operational efficiency at KAMC.
